This Just In: Man Yells at Microphone, Bangs Guitar

I was gonna post a long meandering piece called 'What If Jesus Had a Tail?' about how my cats keep me connected to god and all that crap when I found a message from my good friend and fellow motimer Simmons in my Inbox. The message contained the following link.

http://www.yousendit.com/download/UVJnZHlqVEhqV0EwTVE9PQ

It's apparently an audiofile containg either 'The Instruction Manual of Love' , my latest 4 track guitar and voice tape or the less recent (1996)  'full band' tape 'Rough Night in Babylon'. Or both.

In any event, I'm unable to open files on the Library's computer so I'm not sure. There's a mock up cover in there too I'm told which I haven't seen yet, but  - here's where it gets real punk rock, folks - I'm a goin' send it out anyhow. If anyone can make a copy of the cover or disc please let me know.

The album so nice he had to post twice. :P

OK, so "nice" isn't exactly the correct word here.... then again, it doesn't sound like something originally titled The Murder Weapon either.... :D

Who do you have more reverence for?
A) Patty Smith
B) The Virgin Mary

Which is more important?
A) Feeling established in your ministry.
B) Humbly listening to God.

If you answered A to either of these questions, then you are about as sane as Carl Simmons.

Oh, Jim, my answer to the agbove question is 'A' but that's because I've met Patti Smith as well as read her press, which I can't say for the Virgin Mary.

But. more importantly, you've failed to even consider Laurie Anderson in the equation. She's one of those dangerous women one can actually love for their mind, a concept foreign to most patriarchial homeboys like dem catholics but, listen Bunky, I hope you come to yr senses, too.

Well, I think the Virgin Mary has a much better heads up on Easter than some see-through t-shirt bimbo who sells records by cock-teasing. Hell, I almost bought the CD tonight just for the cover, then came to my senses and was about to buy a Boz Scaggs, when I decided to splurge on All in the Family, Season Five. BTW, let me know if you know of any good Boz Scaggs CDs outside of Silk Degrees, which I have been enjoying month.

Laurie Anderson is just an 80's pop version of Joan Bi-ez. Its just repackagaed left-wing folkie BS, but with synthesizers and an artsy-fartsy twist.

Now Emmylou Harris, she seems like the kind of singer I should get into more. "Wrecking Ball" was pretty cool, and I'm due to get "Roadrunning" featuring probably my second favortie guitar player. Phil Keaggy being number one.

By the way, Sir Paul seems to actually have a pulse these days. Haven't heard him going so nuts on the bass in years. His new "Memory Almost Full" CD goes a little berzerk, and takes a lot of chances, and in the end it comes out sounding pretty good. Still a tad more partial to "Chaos and Creation", but still, not bad.

Bi-ez? Someones's homophobia is showing. Or do you just hate women in general? I find it telling that the ultimate female, as designed by the Catholic Church is the Virgin Mary; a women stripped of all sexuality.

This is where I'd usually make a comment about priests and little boys but I'm trying to be a better person.

I just can't stand hippies, in general. They're about as deep as a birdbath: "all war is bad", "all sex is OK", "abortion is just birth control", etc. All emotions and hormones, and zero brain power. Its basically easier to have an intelligent conversation with a wall, than with a hippy.

"I find it telling that the ultimate female, as designed by the Catholic Church is the Virgin Mary; a woman stripped of all sexuality."

The false premise there is that a woman's purity detracts from her femininity.

"This is where I'd usually make a comment about priests and little boys but I'm trying to be a better person."

You can always make a comment about St. Francis, and the poor that he helped.
